Beauty Stuff — Privacy Policy

Who is responsible for the data

Beauty Stuff is developed and maintained by a private individual. Questions about data, deletion requests and anything else go to kot.julic@gmail.com.

What is kept on the device

Everything the app holds stays in the phone memory and is never sent anywhere:

• products — name, brand, category, note, the dates of purchase, opening and expiration;
• product photos;
• the lists of brands and categories;
• the shopping list;
• app settings — whether reminders are on, and at what time, for example.

The records live in the app database, the photos in the app private directory. Neither is available to other apps. Uninstalling Beauty Stuff erases all of it along with the app.

What leaves the device

The app uses two services from Google LLC. Both receive data automatically; nothing is required from you.

Crash reports — Firebase Crashlytics

When the app crashes or trips over an error, a technical report is sent:

• the error type and the call stack;
• device model, Android version, amount of free memory;
• app version and a technical installation identifier.

The contents of your collection, the photos and the product names never end up in a report.

Usage statistics — Google Analytics for Firebase

The library collects anonymous information on its own, without any calls from the app code:

• app launches and moves between screens;
• device model, Android version, language and approximate country;
• the device advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID) — it can be reset or opted out of in the Android settings, under “Privacy → Ads”.

This shows how many people use the app and which screens they use. No user profile is built from it, and no ads are shown in the app.

Backups

The backup you make

On “Save a backup” the app builds a zip archive with the products, the lists and the photos, and hands it to the system save dialog. Where the file goes is your choice: device storage, a memory card or cloud storage. The app never sends the archive anywhere by itself and has no access to your other files.

The backup Android makes

If Google backup is enabled in your device settings, the operating system copies the app database and settings to your Google Drive on its own. Photos are not included in such a copy. This is done by Android, not by the app: Beauty Stuff has no access to the contents of that backup. It can be turned off in the device settings, under “Google → Backup”.

Permissions and what they are for

• Notifications — to remind you about expiring products. If you decline, the app keeps working, but no reminders will arrive.
• Internet and network state — only to send crash reports and statistics. The app itself works entirely offline.

The app does not ask for a separate camera or gallery permission. A photo is taken by the system camera app, which hands over the finished file; a photo from the gallery is picked through the system dialog, which passes on only the selected image. Beauty Stuff has no access to any other photo on the device.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

Your rights

• The data on the device is yours to control: any record can be changed or deleted in the app, and uninstalling the app erases everything at once.
• To ask for the crash reports and statistics tied to your installation to be deleted, write to kot.julic@gmail.com. You will need the device advertising identifier for that — it is visible in the Android settings.
• Collection of the advertising identifier can be limited from within Android itself, without uninstalling the app.

Changes to this policy

If what is collected changes, this text will be updated together with the app, and the date at the top of the document will change with it. By continuing to use the app after an update you accept the new version.
