Beauty Stuff for iPhone — Support
Updated 19 August 2026 · Русская версия
The app remembers what is in your collection and when it is time to throw it out. Below are the answers to what people ask most often. If your case is not here, write to me — I answer these myself.

How the app works out the date
There can be two dates, and the app takes whichever comes first:
- “Best before” — the date printed on the package, next to EXP;
- “Period after opening” — how many months the product keeps once opened (on the package it is the open jar symbol with a number and the letters PAO). It is counted from the date you put in “Opened on”.
If neither is set, the date stays unknown: the product is kept in the list, but it never shows up in “Needs attention” and no reminders are sent for it.
Reminders do not arrive
Check, in this order:
- the “Reminders” switch is on in the app settings;
- permission is granted in Settings → Notifications → Beauty Stuff. If you declined once, the app can no longer ask — only you can change it in the system settings;
- the product has a date: without one there is nothing to remind about;
- the time and the notice period are set in the “Dates” section: a day, a week, two weeks or a month ahead.
The home screen widget
The “Needs attention” widget shows the same thing as the top section of the list: products whose time is running out or has already run out. It comes in three sizes, from a single line to seven. Tapping a line opens that product’s page.
It is added like any other widget: touch and hold an empty spot on the home screen, tap “+” in the top left corner, and search for the app by name.
If the widget is empty while something in the app is about to expire, check the notice period in the “Dates” section: the widget picks products by the same setting as the “Needs attention” section. The widget refreshes when you leave the app, and once a day on its own.
Moving your collection to another iPhone
The simplest way is the standard iOS backup: the app goes into it whole, photos included, and everything is in place on the new phone by itself.
If you need a separate file, the settings have “Save a backup”: it holds the products, the lists of brands and categories, the shopping list and the photos. Put the file wherever you like — Files, a cloud, an email to yourself. On the other device use “Restore from a backup” and pick that file.
Restoring replaces everything currently in the app rather than adding to it.
I deleted a product by mistake
Right after the deletion a prompt with an “Undo” button appears at the bottom of the screen — it brings the product back together with its photo. Once the prompt is gone, the record cannot be recovered.
That is what the archive is for: a product you no longer use goes out of sight but stays in the app, and you can always take it back out.
Where my data is kept
Your collection, the photos and the lists live on your device only. There is no account, no subscription and no advertising. What does leave the device — crash reports and anonymous usage statistics — is described in the privacy policy.
You found a bug
Write to basilkot@gmail.com. It helps if the email has the app version (it is at the bottom of the settings screen), the phone model and the iOS version, and what you were doing right before things went wrong. A screenshot is almost always the best thing to attach.
